David Moyes has made a striker his January transfer priority -but James McFadden is eager to prove Everton already have a newforward in their ranks.The Scotland international regards centre-forward as hisfavourite position. If the manager brings a striker inthen its more competition and if thats what we need thenthats what we need but thats up to the manager, not theplayers. I think I have said for a while that I prefer to play as astriker and any chance I get to play up there is great. I enjoyedit (on Sunday) and I thought me and Beats did well together andworked hard together. Hopefully that can continue. The manager has already stated he believes Sundayspartnership between McFadden and Beattie was the Blues mosteffective attacking combination.
McFadden believes that was down tothe approach of the duo.He added: I think me and Beats needed to set the tempo forthe match. We needed to work hard to get us up the park and createchances and hold the ball up. We both went out to first andforemost enjoy the game and work hard. The front boys have always got to set the tone for thematch, and sometimes its hard and it was a hard game on Sunday butI think we achieved that and we are really happy with how thingshave gone.
